"Ampex had been forced to replace the whale oil in their original tape formulation with a synthetic version and this had been found to be not so good at binding the oxide over time, with the potentially disastrous consequences that we observed. After some discussion, it was agreed that the tapes would need baking in the Abbey Road ovens at 50 degrees C for four days, so we dispersed with a great sense of anti-climax."
Wer das Walöl in der originalen Suspension gegen ungeeignete synthetische Mittel ersetzt,
der muß dann 4 Tage bei 50 Grad im Ofen trocknen.
