Wieso soll ich Musik von Youtube herunterladen? Ich will ja kein Video, sondern Audio.

Youtube Files sind meist in mehreren Formaten verfügbar, darunter sind auch mehrere Audio-only Formate. Hier ein willkürlich herausgegriffenes Beispiel:

Davon ist "140" das beste non-opus Audio-Format.
"251" ist das beste opus-Format und angeblich besser als "140".

Die Qualität dort ist doch meistens für die Tonne.

Das liegt allerdings meist an denen, die das Zeug hochgeladen haben und zum Teil an automatischer Pegel-"Normalisierung".

Nachtrag: "video only" darf man nicht wörtlich nehmen, enthält natürlich auch den Ton.
