Interesting - I haven't had any bad experiences with my only piece of a Scotch Master I so far. Apparently I'm lucky. Or the specimens are processed differently well.

I am also rather critical of the visually beautiful Scotch Metafine. A piece that I have firsthand from my father still performs superbly 40 years later. The other pieces that I have received so far are all no longer playable. Could also be due to storage.
