Naja, wer bestimmt, was die Leute hören wollen? Externe Berater? Die Senderchefs? Die Musikredakteure? Jedenfalls nicht die Hörer selbst, wenn ich sehe wie immer mehr junge Menschen sich vom Radio abwenden, da nicht das gespielt wird, was sie gerne hören möchten. Und ich denke kaum, dass die Leute auf Dauer gefallen an den 40 bestgetesteten Hits in Dauerschleife finden. Mir geht das auch irgendwann auf die Nerven. Der Grund wieso das Konzept kommerziell funktioniert ist schlicht und ergreifend, dass das Radio vermehrt als Nebenbei-Medium gesehen wird. Da soll nur das Vertraute dudeln, wenn man aus der Masse heraussticht, wird weggeschaltet. Diesen Stand hat sich das Radio aber selbst zuzuschreiben. Leute mit ernsthaftem Interesse sind Richtung Streamingdienste verschwunden und übrig geblieben sind eben jene, die Radio als reines Nebenbeigedudel sehen.
Man hat den Menschen hierzulande halt über Jahrzehnte deutschsprachige Musik „ausgeredet“, indem man im Radio die amerikanische Musikindustrie forciert und Schlager in die uncoole Rentnerecke geschoben hat. Eine Musikquote muss schleunigst her, zumindest für die steuerfinanzierten Rundfunkanstalten. Wenn ich merke, dass sich musikalisch zwischen einem SWR3 und ner amerikanischen AC-Station kaum was gibt, dann frage ich mich echt, wieso wir noch einheimische Popwellen brauchen. Kann man einfach nen amerikanischen Sender durchschleifen auf den Frequenzen.
