Sättigung, also SOL unter 1kHz könnte schwierig werden. Zumindest beim Cassetten System haben hochausteubare Bänder, wie z.B. das SONY Metalband der Metal-ES schon einen MOL 315Hz (3%HDL) von knapp +10db DIN, da ist man vom SOL noch weit entfernt. Da wird wohl eher die Hardware im Rec oder PB Amp clippen. Keine Ahnung welche Reserven gute Studiomaschinen haben.
