Hallo,

Ein glückliches Neues Jahr 2008 aus England.

Thunderbirds are Go! HEUTE, 02.01.08 - Ab 20.00 UHR BBC 4 TV (Satellit)

The original puppet series from the 1960’s!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/ (The times shown are in GMT and not European times!)

There is also an hour long program about the ‘Thunderbirds’ story.

BBC 4 (and all other BBC Radio and TV) is free-to-air on Astra 2 (28.2 Grad) Satellite - 10.773 H and can be received in Germany. (In the West of Germany, it should be easy to receive with a standard size dish)

Or it might be on cable TV services?

Grüße

Peter.
(A Thunderbird Fan!)
P.S. I would be interested to know if these programs are still shown on German TV?

Hallo Peter,

a Happy New Year for you, too. It's never too late to say it, isn't it?

Thunderbirds are known in Germany, but not well known. I've seen it in the 70th the first time. It was replayed in TV a couple of times.
The problem is: Most of the TV-program-makers here in germany don't know, if Thunderbirds is for children or for adults. The same with Dr. Who (starting the second time this Saturday in germany at Pro7), previously visible as a part of the children-program in german television.

Better known is Anderson's "UFO" and "Space 1999" (Mondbasis Alpha).

But, it seems, our TV-directors are not really interested in Science Fiction "from Outer Hollywood": No own productions since 1966 ("Orion"), only rarely british productions visible (at last "Live on Mars" last autumn)

A toast to DVD Smile

Best regards, Matthias
