I have an interesting little issue with an N4522/00 that has been working perfectly for many, many years.
The unit is operating perfectly apart from when REC+PLAY is depressed, then the button release solenoid operates, sometimes immediately and sometimes after a few minutes and the transport then stops. The machine does record until the transport buttons are released by the solenoid.
If REC+PLAY+Pause is selected, the transport will tension as normal, but the release of the pause button triggers the button release solenoid every time.
The counter is operating as normal, FF/REW and Play work perfectly at all speeds.
I was wondering if this is a problem anyone has seen before, my next step is to get the oscilloscope on to the switch board to try an understand what is happening. Any ideas would be very gratefully received.
