Revox A700 ASIC-Ersatz TCA561 Motorsteuerung

Guten Abend,

auf Grund diverser Nachfragen hier der innere Aufbau des kundenspezifischen Schaltkreis TCA561 für die Motorsteuerung der Revox A700.
Die Schaltung stammt aus der elektrischen Tanja, daher keine Garantie ob korrekt.
Sollte sich eventuell durch engagierte Kollegen in einen Huckepack-Print für die Steuerungsplatine der A700 umsetzen lassen.

TCA insights by Varga... Tinmans Statement:

  It's a really nice deck WHEN it behaves. But it was a stretch when new, and 70's IC's in particular aren't aging well. Many are now decaying from the INSIDE, regardless of being used or not.

And to answer your last question, tape tension or contact pressure with the head if you want to properly set it is dark magic. Usually its good enough to just tension the tape so that it sounds right but if you really want to be serious, you feed the deck a 1ktone and look at it with a spectrum analyser. There is a point where too little tension will impede HF response, but too much tension (besides wearing down your heads and tape faster) will cause excessive higher order distortion in the reproduced signal. I have not yet figured out precisely why, but it happens. Also the noise from the tape is going to get worse, but thats simply because of the dragging on the guide surfaces and the heads themselves. Its all a fine balance if you really want to go proper about it. I am pretty sure that the A700 was set from the meanufacturing correctly s no need to touch the springs
