Peter, zu Deinem Beitrag 018 und Ferrograph / Studer / Revox:
ich habe "meine" Quelle gefunden, die nur einen Schönheitsfehler hat: der Artikel "A history of Ferrograph" der englischen Fachzeitschrift "Studio Sound" ist nicht gezeichnet. Ich kann also nur anhand des Stils und der Fülle an Informationen mutmaßen, das der bekannte englische Fachjournalist Barry Fox der Verfasser ist.
Hier also der entscheidende Absatz aus:
N.N. (Fox, Barry?), A history of Ferrograph, Studio Sound, December 1987, p. 16:
Tape recorder manufacture was not viable but spares and service, and test equipment manufacture – as much of the original business as possible – was continued. A deal was struck whereby Ferrograph would buy Revox transports but build a machine that was different to their product and sell it as a Ferrograph machine. So they were able to satisfy customers requiring that style of equipment with a Ferrograph specification. This is basically how they kept in the analogue reel-to-reel market and at this point the company became profitable.
Schon etwas seltsam, nicht wahr? Leider fehlt eine zweite Quelle zur Bestätigung ...
